From Audrey Waggoner:
Howdy y’all!
I spent the last couple of days in Smiley, Texas – a tiny tiny town in Gonzales County with a population of about 400 people. We stayed at a working guest ranch – a graduation present for me! I was told to expect to be birthing calves and mending fences, but calf-birthing season was over and there weren’t any fences to be mended. So we spent our days riding horses through the hundreds of acres on the ranch and herding cattle through different pastures.
There is something about being outside, physical labor and seeing wildlife that just stirs your affections for Jesus. God definitely restored parts of me through creation within the past few days.
My family and I had a good time speculating about all the tall tales our host told us. We heard some tall ones – about life on the Western frontier, serial killers, Jonas Salk and screwworms. My affinity for Texas culture has drastically increased this past week and my appreciation for Texas history is slowly, slowly developing.
I’m heading back home tomorrow and am hoping to remember ways that I’ve changed this past year and implement those within my lifestyle at home – always a struggle. I’m praying for you guys and am looking forward to what is going on with everyone.
Happy trails,
Audrey

Texas History?? Haha, sounds good sister, I too am learning so many lessons, it’s exciting, but because there is so much to take in, it has become difficult it is to apply them to my life. Much love.
